So, in a lot of places that you're going to be in the world encrypt me will have a server right beside you um, so that's always useful to have in terms of proximity and in terms of just being able to go to other spots. Now, when it comes to encryption with encrypt me uh, they do pretty well. They have the state-of-the-art 256-bit aes encryption, so you're good to go in that sense when it comes to protocols you're using openvpn, which of course gives you access to a number of other configurations. Of course, we would love to have seen wire guard one of the newer protocols, another faster protocols out there on the market today uh, but that is not yet the case with encrypt me now. The next thing we'd like to go over are the core features. Now the first thing we're going to look at is kill, switch and, yes, there's a kill, switch. Your data packets are safe, you're good to go when it comes to. You know something happening to the vpn and your stuff being exposed not going to happen now when it comes to split tunneling. Our second feature you're not going to get full access to that. So if you want a split tunnel, you might be out of luck depending on where you are and what you're doing next we look at torrenting and once again, torrenting with encrypt me is just not ideal. If that is really important to you again, you don't want to look at encrypt me. That'S just not what they're built for finally come to streaming services encrypt me does not do a ton of unblocking, so if you're trying to get around something originally or anything of that nature, uh encrypt me is probably not the vpn that you're going to want to Go with so keep that in mind if you're really trying to capture you know something that is on us. Netflix encrypt me, not the one. Let'S talk about those tests. Now i've taken a lot of tests in my life uh the bar exam being a major one. Uh and i want to just look at how they perform on tests and yeah when it comes to encrypt me, pass our webrtc leak test, our dns leak test and, let's dive into the speed test. So with encrypt me. You know all the continents, if possible, um, they don't have anything on antarctica. Yet i haven't seen that anywhere. But for africa i was able to get johannesburg and that was 139 megabits per second download speed and i was able to get 72 mega per second upload speed. So really not that bad um. You know i miss joe berg, that's a really fun place um. So that's the speeds i was getting for encrypt me just across the board. Pretty solid speeds um in that whole experience all right. So let's jump into my experience on the encrypted web application. So the first thing i have to note right off the bat that always confuses me about encrypt me when i use it again is the fact that you go into a location. So if i go into a location like let's say japan now, it says currently selected japan and you're, saying oh okay, uh that's great, but then you go to be in japan and you're not there. And why is that? Because you seem, as you say currently selected, you should be working, even if you hit done after it should work, but now you have to go in and connect and when you go and connect that is what's actually going to send you to japan. Now it's just an extra step. It'S just two steps, one plus one two, not that much, but because it's so different than everything else, i'm accustomed to. I honestly make the mistake. Far too often, maybe this is you know my uh problem of thinking, i'm in a certain private tunnel and then i go and i'm not because i haven't gone back to hit that other button and that is different than every other uh vpn that i've seen out In the market, i'm pretty sure, so that's my one thing with encrypt me when i right off the bat always bothers me about the mobile application. That being said, what i love about the mob application, so let's go back, it's a transporter and i i think that's maybe like a star trek reference um, i have a little a little enterprise i'll, bring this enterprise down uh i love star trek. I mean it's just great, but anyway i digress. So let's go ahead and see what other experiences like i can easily go in jump into. You know chechia. I can jump into hungary. I can jump into iceland and remember. I have to go back on encrypt for a second, so now i'm in iceland - i imagine i'm in raikshavik, so that's kind of how encrypted works. You go down. You transport, it's pretty cool south america. I can go to argentina. Go done. Get out of here. Go back so overall, pretty straightforward experience with encrypt me and if we go and look at our settings, you'll note that there's really not a lot else going on uh inside of here so anyway. That'S the experience that you're going to have with encrypt me. So remember it's a two-step process for joining any location, but overall, when you do get in there, it's fine, but i do think they should maybe rethink that basic functionality. In summary, encrypt me does have some things going for it uh, definitely, but in a lot of areas it's um really lacking and it's gon na be very dependent on the person. It has over 70 locations in 40 countries, so if i need to be in japan, i can be there if i need to be in new delhi mumbai. I can be there with encrypt me so really a lot of utility in that uh for me, um and, like i said, a respectable number of cities. Now, let's shift gears a bit and talk about the performance with encrypt me now, when i talk performance in this sense, i'm really talking about speed. Now, when it comes to speed with encrypt me, i want to be clear that this can be very dependent on the variables affecting you, like isp um, what you're actually using you know just anything that goes into everyday speed, even here in new york with my thios, I consistently have different speeds from day to day, and in our case we were testing this on a mac on the west coast and my iphone here on the east coast uh and of course i was using it. You know with my mac and things here in the east coast as well, but let's go ahead and dive in to those speed tests. Now, starting off with my iphone numbers here in new york, my control test, meaning without encrypt means vpn toggled on. I was able to get 135 megabytes per second download speed and 92 megabits per second upload speed. Now i went a little further north of the border to montreal, where i was able to get a download speed of 54 megabytes per second and an upload speed of 99 megabits per second, so somehow it actually increased. My speed uh from when i took that control test. When i went over to johannesburg, south africa, i got download speeds of 34 megabytes per second and upload speeds of 13 megabytes per second, so a lot of variability, as you can see on my iphone here in new york, now moving over to our imac testing on The west coast, i was able to get a control speed of 251 megabytes per second download, but just 22 megabytes per second upload. So a lot a lot of gap there uh. When i went over to paris from this location uh, we got 141 megabytes per second download speed and 21 megabytes per second upload speed. Switzerland game us 190 megabytes per second download speed and 20 megabytes per second upload speed. And finally, brazil gave us a speed of 165 megabytes per second download speed and 14 megabytes per second upload speed, as you can see, with the imac we're able to get pretty solid speeds, even while using encrypt me vpn briefly i'll talk about the plan options with Encrypt me now with encrypt me: you of course have the opportunity to buy a month pass or a year pass, but what's cool about encrypt me, it gives you the ability to buy your vpn for just a week and if you would like even more flexibility for You or those around you, they have family plans, they have team plans if you know you're part of some type of team that you know really necessitates using vpn, which is probably most teams uh. You have various options, you can go to the fastest available or you can just decide by continent where you would like to be. So. If i want to go into africa, you know uh. My brother studied in south africa visited really nice and i can switch over into south africa and now i'm connected to a johannesburg server. Now, if i were to decide to go into another space like let's say europe place, we frequent often here at security.org is paris. So let's go down to france and you know you have a couple of options when it comes to france in terms of cities where they have servers, so you have bokeh and you have paris uh and i can dive into paris and it's going to go ahead And change me over from south africa uh to france, uh inside of the encrypt me application now. Finally, uh you do have a few other spaces where you have uh different locations in terms of uh more than one city, so you of course got you know. South america and the various countries, but when it comes to multiple cities in one space, it's actually interesting that you have canada. So in canada you have montreal toronto and vancouver all available all lovely cities, so we're going to jump into montreal, which is not too far from us here in new york. Uh you'll see that now i'm connecting to that and i'm secure and for all intents and purposes my location is canada. So that's our look at the pretty bare bones: uh minimalist, let's say: uh mobile application for encrypt me now, let's check out and encrypt me on my mac, so you'll see that right at the top. It tells you what network you're connected to and from there you can decide to secure my connection, and that is going to put you into the encryptment vpn, allowing you to enable it and now you're masking your location. Now, if i wanted to see other places that i can go to from asking my location, i go to that top left hand corner and you'll see that there are a ton of different locations available to you, or at least a significant number of locations available to You so you have africa with nigerian south africa asia with about seven countries there and you'll note that india gives you a couple of different options. You have mumbai and new delhi along with you, know, japan, philippines uh generally, then you have europe, north america and what's great about the north american one is that both canada and united states give you multiple locations to dive into so i can be in montreal or Toronto or vancouver in the united states, i can be and really a lot of cities from my hometown of nashville uh to the nation's capital, to hotlanta uh, to where i actually am in new york city, and you also get a little bit of flexibility. Diversity. Um of location when it comes to where you'd like to be in australia from brisbane to melbourne, to perth uh to sydney so really like that they make it pretty straightforward. Give you that continental! Look that kind of breaks things up a bit uh in terms of what we've seen from vpns. So if you jump into the upper right hand corner where you see that gear you'll actually be able to jump into some of the advanced options and they're, you know keeping it pretty minimal, you have the ability to change your connection protocol from udp, which is a Little bit better for performance to tcp or just toggle, between the two as you see fit. So that's my look at encrypt me's mac app. So let's wrap it up today and i'll give you my final thoughts on encrypt me now. Encrypt me does a great job of allowing me gabe to be anywhere. I want to be in the world and mask my location uh, just by tapping on that toggle on and off, and i secure i encrypt i'm in a different place and that's really useful. Now is it giving me the most advanced features? No, if you're the kind of person who wants to you know have specific bittorrent server setup, a specific streaming server setup, um you're, not the target market for encrypt me. This is for the person who needs. You know access to about 40 countries who wants to be able to jump in easily and who wants to be able to. You know, use it to match their location. They do that admirably, not the most robust, comprehensive vpn out there, but if you just want to get on the internet with an unlimited number of devices, unlimited number of connections with decent speeds, uh you're gon na get that with encrypt me. I bought this to protect my privacy on up to 3 devices and still can't get it to load up on the third device. I asked for help and all I got was a link with the directions for the installation (which I already found and tried), followed it to the letter (again), but it didn't work. I was not impressed with the customer service, needless to say. The program also seems to slow down my computer with certain programs I am running and I have to turn off IP Vanish until I get the program loaded

 I'm not sure if it is working properly and it seems to be a pain at times. I hope it is doing it's job for all the trouble I am having with installing and the slowdowns on the computer. so far I like that it hasn't limited connections I like that it's easy to use there is tech support and it also has security features the only thing I don't like about this ipvanish VPN is that it's severely knocked down my speeds I am paying for 400 Mbps from spectrum and without the VPN I get about 360 Mbps with the VPN I only get about 80 sometimes 120 but the majority of the times it's 80 so I'm kind of upset that it knocks down the speed tremendously cuz when I was using nordvpn it would only knock down my speed by like 20 to 50 Max I was still getting my high 200s. I'm still in the middle of messing with the settings and all that so I'll get back to you guys on how the speeds changed or did not change.

IP Vanish is not free

 I asked how that is considered an "option" when the only choice is to agree to autorenew and, frankly, I never realized I was agreeing to that. I asked the representative to send me proof that I agreed to autorenew the account, and Miriam said she could not provide that proof. I recommend anyone considering ipvanish STAY AWAY!

 When I called and spoke with their representative, she said that customers must select the "option" to autorenew when they establish an account with them. If they do NOT agree to autorenew, they can NOT establish an account. I still don't know or understand how to use it completely but you can't use it while using amazon prime products like watching videos or tv series! You have to disable or disconnect it inorder to use Amazon Prime services! I tried several VPN but this one was the best and easiest to use. The screen was the the best to understand. Honestly I don't care about all those other status. I just want to know if I am connected and most importantly hidden with location shown to me that's all I really care about

If I could give it no stars I would. This has never worked for any of my devices. If I could cancel it I would but there is no way to personally contact these people.

While I do appreciate anonymity while using the Internet or my fire TV, IP Vanish does a decent job but is a bit unstable and causes my computer to lose its Internet connection frequently. I have tried different configurations and the result is pretty much the same I don't know if it's my network or ip vanish although it didn't have him prior to installing ip vanish I may have a router going belly up as well so it's difficult to differentiate any input suggestions on a vpn client? I'd love to hear them and what your experiences are.

If your not tech savvy stay away

 As someone who resides outside the US, i need a VPN to access certain apps and sad to say this was not helpful, but it was detectable by almost all apps and as such they would shut me down. Dont know why this is recommended by so many youtubers, it just didn't work.
